The global Human Resource (HR) Function provides an integrated talent management system that delivers a workforce that is Corning's competitive differentiator in the global marketplace.

HR provides service offerings that align solutions to business challenges by ensuring the programs are Effective, Efficient, Global, Scaleable, and Repeatable.  Corning’s Values are operationalized by the HR Function through the facilitation of Talent Management offerings, as well as programs and processes that aid in making Corning’s Values visible.

Role Purpose

This role encompasses human resource functions such as employment, compensation, benefits, employee relations, equal employment opportunity, organizational development, affirmative action, and health and safety services programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage HR processes: talent planning, leadership training, performance management, salary reviews, compensation planning, diversity initiatives, headcount reporting, educational assistance, etc.
  • Lead training and development, including oversight of the training department.
  • Own and execute Hickory’s culture strategy.
  • Facilitate change initiatives; advise managers on employee engagement, team development, and organizational effectiveness.
  • Partner with managers to deliver training programs aligned with business needs.
  • Provide strategic and tactical HR support to the Hickory team.
  • Manage contractor processes, including headcount tracking, onboarding, and compliance.
  • Oversee New Employee Orientation (NEO) for hires and contractors.
  • Assess and resolve employee relations issues objectively.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures.
  • Manage staffing and hiring processes.
  • Lead internal and external audit preparation.
  • Administer and track monthly spend for Rewards and Recognition programs.
  • Ensure compliance with the Affirmative Action Plan.
  • Support labor-management relations.
  • May assist with employment, compensation, benefits, employee relations, and EEO processes.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • BA/BS degree w/7–8+ years experience
  • MA/MS degree w/4–7+ years experience
  • Knowledge of human resource practices and policies as well as applicable state and federal laws.
  • Hands-on self-starter, capable of juggling multiple priorities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, allowing for communication across entire organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership and coaching skills.
  • Ability to foster change and promote and implement improvement.
  • Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, Power Point, Internet).

The range for this position is $124,078.00 - $170,608.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
