Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Scope of Position:
• Engagement with cross-functional teams, Planning, Production Coordinators, DMO, Quality, Engineering, Inventory teams.
• System Testing/Enhancements representative for HCP.
• Support of Production and Planning day-to-day operations in CoMET, FIOS, and SAP.
Day to Day Responsibilities:
• Support Production Coordinators with issues in CoMET, FIOS, or SAP.
• Support day-to-day Production troubleshooting systems to keep lines running consistently.
• Support inventory adjustments due to suspended transactions.
• Support Production Coordinators in Bill of Material (BOM) or product changes between CoMET and SAP.
• Identify training opportunities with Production Coordinators in SAP, FIOS, and CoMET systems.
• Cross-train in planning and inventory activities.
Travel requirements:
Minimal local traveling for training.
Required Schedule:
M-F 8:00am-5:00pm. Occasional weekend support may be required for urgent operational needs.
Required Education:
Completion of a two-year associate degree program or comparable professional experience.
Required Experience:
2+ years planning and/or manufacturing experience.
Required Skills:
• Proficient in CoMET, FIOS, and SAP
• Excellent communication and follow-up skills on actions and activities.
• Process orientation. Needs to think about planning as a process and how to make it consistent in our systems.
• Accurate and detail oriented.
• Proficient computer skills using databases and spreadsheets.
Desired Skills:
• Pro-active approach – plan for alternate actions to assure delivery of product (as required).
• Experience with project receivership and handoff.
Soft Skills:
• Active team member to help resolve issues.
• Communication skills – written and oral.
• Positive change management. With new products, there will be many changes and must maintain a positive attitude.

The range for this position is $57,542.00 - $79,120.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
