Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
The Shipping Coordinator plays a critical role in managing and facilitating outbound and inbound shipments to ensure prompt, accurate, and cost-efficient delivery of merchandise. This position acts as a primary point of contact among carriers, warehouses, internal departments, and customers, guaranteeing that all shipping requirements are fulfilled, and documentation is thoroughly prepared.
What You'll Do
- Oversee daily shipping operations, including scheduling carrier pickups and deliveries.
- Prepare, review, and manage shipping documentation such as bills of lading, packing lists, invoices, and customs paperwork.
- Monitor shipments, proactively addressing any delays, damages, or discrepancies.
- Provide regular shipment status updates to internal stakeholders and customers.
- Ensure strict compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable domestic and international shipping regulations.
- Maintain accurate shipping records and update ERP or transportation management systems accordingly.
- Analyze freight costs and contribute to initiatives aimed at optimizing shipping processes and efficiency.
- Collaborate with warehouse, purchasing, and customer service teams to ensure timely fulfillment of delivery commitments.
- Assist with audits, inventory reconciliation, and continuous improvement projects.
Experiences/Education
- High school diploma or GED required
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Minimum of two years’ experience in shipping, logistics, or transportation coordination.
- Comprehensive knowledge of domestic and/or international shipping regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook); experience with ERP or transportation management systems is preferred.
- Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven ability to handle multiple tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

- Nominal working hours are M – F, 8 AM – 5 PM
- Support off shift as needed

The range for this position is $41,286.00 - $56,768.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
