Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
The Supply Chain Solutions Power User (or Systems Engineer) is responsible for leading or supporting supply chain initiatives to improve Supply Chain systems. This individual will work to standardize the supply chain processes globally – by supporting SAP system deployments, developing analytical tools, and leading continuous improvement efforts. They will lead or support large scale projects with touch points with various support functions including operations, finance, and engineering. Project scope can include delivering capacity and operational readiness, capability, cost reduction and continuous improvement. Metrics of success for project execution will include safety, timeliness, costs, and scope compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead or support Supply Chain system deployments as the business or supply chain workstream leader.
- Understand and leverage the EBS methodologies to successfully deploy SAP system projects.
- Monitor system performance to identify continuous improvement opportunities within supply chain systems.
- Develop end-to-end tools to improve forecast, demand planning, sourcing and order entry and commit processes between OCS, Cables Manufacturing, Fiber, and suppliers.
- Develop Supply Chain solutions that continue to support global enterprise processes, data standards, and metrics while supporting the unique supply chain strategies within fiber and cable businesses.
- Manage data governance associated with technical supply chain tools and programs – MES FIS, FIOS, & SAP.
- Develop and manage Power User curriculum to maintain Power User support network.
- Collaborate with and build positive and productive relationships with OFC program leaders, business leaders, customers, suppliers, and other functions to create and implement new supply chain capabilities.
- Develop relationships via industry associations and lead external benchmarking of best practices and emerging digital technologies.
- Represent business interests when interfacing with IT.

Required Experience and Education:
- B.S. degree in Engineering, IT, Business or Supply Chain field
- Minimum 3 years of multi business/function experience in Project Management in Supply Chain, Quality, Operations, or Engineering
- Minimum 3 years of operating supply chain modules of an ERP environment
- Experience creating partnerships with stakeholders, communicating effectively, influencing leadership, driving change, applying emotional intelligence, and employing analytics
Desired:
- MBA in Finance, Accounting, or Supply Chain
- Project Management Certification
- SAP ECC 6.0, SAP APO, or S/4HANA
- Supply Chain expertise gained through executive program training, certification, and/or industry associations
- Microsoft Project & Power BI experience
- Understanding the cable and/or fiber manufacturing business

The range for this position is $88,723.00 - $121,995.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
