Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Location:
Home office / fully remote position. Location in Southern Germany preferred; working from the Berlin office or Hagen office is possible.
Responsibilities:
• Develop and grow sales with direct accounts and channel partners to increase Corning’s passive optical footprint in Germany to support long-term, sustainable growth.
• Develop and execute sales strategies and achieve individual revenue targets.
• Be responsible for managing the sales pipeline and providing respective forecast data and other reports.
• Provide market intelligence and “voice of customer” input to other functional departments.
• Support regional marketing and market-communication events.
• Ensure adherence to Corning’s business processes and all other relevant policies and regulations.
• Support Sales Management in all specifically assigned tasks and duties.
Requirements:
• Team-player spirit with a high level of integrity
• Hunting attitude, demonstrated sales capabilities, and a proven track record
• Good presentation, communication, management, and negotiation skills
• Relationship-oriented and result-driven
• Ability to work effectively in a remote environment (home office)
• Technical background; a telecommunications background is an advantage
• Solid technical and business acumen, with the ability to present and sell solutions in a business context
• Hands-on technical capabilities experience is an advantage
• Ability to interface with C-level executives, management, and technical decision-makers
• Native German speaker (or bilingual) and fluent in English; other languages are an advantage
• Ability to travel nationally / internationally (up to 40%)
• Strong demonstrable ability to work independently and deliver outputs without close supervision
