Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
For our business in Germany, we are looking for a
Systems Engineer Data Centers EMEA (m/f/d)
(Berlin, Germany or Fully Remote, Germany)
At Corning, we develop and manufacture state-of-the-art optical and data center infrastructure that enables the world’s most advanced networks. We’re looking for a creative Systems Engineer who enjoys working with technology, customers, and real-world solutions, not just theory.
Location: Berlin, Germany or Remote, Germany
Language Requirement: German & English required
What You’ll Do:
- Design Optical network solutions for Data Centers and LAN projects using Corning products
- Create and check Bills of Materials (BOMs) for customer projects
- Support customers and sales teams with technical advice and solution design
- Turn customer requests (RFQs) into clear technical solutions
- Prepare technical documents (drawings, layouts, datasheets, etc.)
- Deliver technical training and workshops to customers and partners
- Support projects before and after sales (design, installation, testing, troubleshooting)
- Work closely with our product teams to help improve our solutions
What We’re Looking For:
- Engineering background (Telecom, Electrical, Mechanical, ICT, Network, or similar). Minimum bachelor’s degree.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- 2–5 years of experience in data centers, telecom, or ICT.
- Solid understanding of data center infrastructure and optical networks.
- Comfortable talking to customers and explaining technical topics.
- English fluent; German B1/B2 acceptable.
- Strong tool skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, Office 365).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Valid German work permit required.
- Must be able to travel freely within EU without complex visa processes.
- Data Center Engineering Background (beneficially).
