Role Purpose
Corning's Photonics Connectivity Solutions (PCS) business is seeking an experienced relationship-driven technical manager to serve as the primary local interface for customers and partner business units, driving collaboration and aligning technical resources to meet key account needs. This candidate combines strong customer engagement capability, technical understanding, and program management expertise. This individual does not need to be the deepest technical expert in optical connectivity technologies but must be able to effectively bridge customers, business organizations, and engineering teams to drive successful execution and long-term strategic partnerships. Will require flexibility and some travel.
- Lead strategic customer engagement, manage day-to-day relationships, and coordinate technical projects with key clients, AI ecosystem partners, CSPs, and partner business units
- Coordinate joint workspaces, demos, resource planning, and engagement cadence with internal business units to strengthen synergy and customer impact
- Serve as the communication bridge among regional leadership, local partners, internal technical teams, and external collaborators
- Convert customer feedback and requirements into clear action plans for Design, Process, Equipment, Reliability, and Operations teams
- Plan and support high-value customer visits, technical demonstrations, facility showcases, and executive engagements
Key Responsibilities
- Own customer interaction plans, meeting preparation, follow-up actions, and technical issue tracking
- Coordinate internal alignment before and after customer meetings or partner reviews
- Capture customer needs, technical feedback, risks, and opportunities with Corning’s structured format
- Work with Program Managers, Design, Process, and Application Engineers to ensure commitments, deliverables, and next steps are clear.
- Support customer-facing technical narratives, demo planning, and leadership readouts.
Experiences/Education - Required
- B.S., M.S. in Engineering, Science, Business Administration, Program Management, Product Management, or a related fields
- 10+ years of experience in one or more of Technical, PM, Customer Engineering, FAE, Business Development for technical products, Product Development or Engineering Management, Optical Communications, Networking, Semiconductor, AI Infrastructure, Data Center, or related industries
- Strong customer engagement and relationship management experience
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional programs, align stakeholders, and drive actions, timelines, and deliverables across organizations
- Excellent project planning, tracking, risk management, and execution skills
- Ability to translate customer requirements into actionable engineering and operational plans
- Strong presentation and communication skills, including the ability to interact with customers, executives, and technical teams
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with a customer-focused mindset
- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills
Experiences/Education - Desired
- Experience in one or more of the following roles: CE, FAE, PM, TPM, or BD
- Experience supporting customers in one or more of the following industries: AI Infrastructure, CSPs, Datacenter Networking, Optical communications, Semiconductor Packaging, XCVR, NPO, or CPO
- Knowledge of opto-mechanical technologies, CPO assembly concept, Optical interconnect technologies, Fiber optic connectivity solutions, product qualification and reliability processes
- Experience coordinating executive-level customer visits, technical demonstrations, workshops, or strategic accounting activities
- Experience working within a global multinational company and managing geographically dispersed teams
