Role Purpose

Corning's Photonics Connectivity Solutions (PCS) business is seeking a Facility Manager responsible for laboratory and office space selection, site setup, facility operations, and compliance with environmental, safety, and physical building restrictions. Working with a global team of engineers will require flexibility.

  • Coordinate physical setup of office and laboratory spaces, including space partitioning, budget estimation, security integration, and readiness planning
  • Evaluate building structural specifications, including floor loading, vibration-free standards, utilities, cleanroom needs, and equipment installation constraints
  • Manage environmental and safety compliance, including chemical handling procedures, waste management, cleanroom access, and laboratory safety controls
  • Liaise with building administration, existing Corning facility resources, local site teams, and external contractors
  • Support integration of administrative and facilities resources from existing local groups where appropriate

Key Responsibilities

  • Track facility readiness actions, risks, permits, layout updates, and budget assumptions
  • Coordinate with Process and Equipment teams on tool installation requirements, utilities, exhaust, floor stability, and layout
  • Support safety reviews, EHS procedure development, and emergency response readiness
  • Maintain lab and office operating procedures, access controls, and service schedules
  • Coordinate contractor, vendor, and building administration activities

Experiences/Education - Required

  • B.S., M.S. in Engineering, or relevant field with lab setup
  • 8+ years of experience in facility management, laboratory setup, cleanroom setup, manufacturing site operations, EHS(Environment, Health, and Safety), or engineering project execution
  • Experience coordinating equipment installation, utilities, cleanroom/lab setup, contractor work, and building administration
  • Knowledge of EHS requirements, chemical handling, waste management, access control, and facility operating procedures
  • Strong planning, vendor coordination, documentation, and cross-functional communication skills
  • Work closely with local Science Park facilities partners

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Experience supporting laboratory, engineering facility, or pilot-line operations
  • Familiarity with facility planning and management
  • Knowledge of EHS requirements, laboratory safety practices, facility compliance programs, physical security, and access control systems
  • Experience managing facility-related vendors, service providers, budgets, renovation projects, and space expansion activities in a technology environment
