Day to Day Responsibilities


  • Develop global manufacturing strategy incorporating knowledge of competitors, costs, capabilities, and market conditions.
  • Ensure global alignment in the execution of the manufacturing and engineering strategy.
  • Deliver product at cost and performance levels that ensure the business meets its objectives.
  • Support development and execution of the business strategy as a member of the business team to assure alignment of Manufacturing and Commercial objectives and Technology.
  • Establish appropriate manufacturing metrics and achieve results to meet business objectives.
  • Assure growth in talent and capability of the manufacturing and engineering staffs throughout the division.
  • Define and execute major capital projects supporting growth and expansion or cost reduction.
  • Define and implement division sourcing policy where required.
  • Insure the development of effective relationships in manufacturing and engineering with key customers and suppliers.
  • Build effective relationships in areas such as Manufacturing Technology & Engineering (MTE) and Science & Technology (S&T), with key customers and suppliers, and externally (other manufacturing sources and capabilities) to successfully deploy the manufacturing strategy.


Education and Experience 

  • Ten years of Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Master’s degree in engineering or Science is required
  • Progressive responsibilities in manufacturing and engineering roles in plants and divisions including Plant Manager experience.
  • Experience with global manufacturing and business through work, project experience, or expatriate assignment.
  • Manufacturing and/or engineering experiences throughout the product life cycle (growth and/or decline, new product introductions, turnaround situation, etc.).
  • Experience in leading projects or organizations in meeting step change performance improvements, new product or process innovation, and expanding technical capability
  • Experience developing and communicating plant manufacturing strategy and tactics.
  • Experience leveraging the corporate network and resources to deliver successful business outcomes
  • Experience building and managing a cohesive staff and establishing collaborative relationships across functional areas
  • Demonstrated track record of growing and placing talent. Desired Experience in staff role (PEM, Div. Eng. Functional Mgr.) or project roles such as Sr. Project Manager, Program Manager, etc.
  • Is comfortable talking and working with individuals from a wide variety of backgrounds, disciplines, and cultures.
  • Anticipates objections or resistance that others may have and works proactively to address them.
  • Helps clarify perspectives when there are conflicts. • Is quick to identify decision-makers in situations.
  • Is able to work with others in a cooperative, non-confrontational manner.
  • Focuses on the problem and not on the person.
  • Keeps the right people informed and up to date.
