Purpose of Position:
Provide environmental, health, and safety (EHS) leadership, expertise, and practical support for the Corning site operation in Keene, NH. Responsible to work closely with corporate functional leadership and site team to drive improvements across all EHS issues. A significant emphasis will be hands-on support to help site accomplish the work. This role will also provide education, culture change, and help the site leadership form a strategic plan for continued sustainable improvement in EHS. This role must adeptly work within a matrixed organization structure with plant operations, engineering and technology resources team as well as the Corporate EHS teams driving solutions to yield results in all EHS Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
Education, Skills and Experience Required:
- Bachelor's degree in EH&S, or related degree required. Master's degree preferred.
- 3-5 years EHS experience in a Manufacturing setting.
- Strong working knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and Risk Assessment legislation.
- Experience at managing compliance data and generating internal reports and action plans, papers and providing information to internal and external customers.
- Experience in managing audits and inspections.
- Experience in identifying compliance issues and developing practical corrective actions.
Responsibilities
- Develops, administers, and implements environmental and safety programs in accordance with governmental requirements.
- Monitors/advises on pollution prevention activities, compliance and auditing efforts.
- Conducts, studies, and prepares environmental impact reports for plant processes and permit changes.
- Evaluates proposed regulations to determine financial, industrial, public and environmental impact.
- Interacts with federal, state, and local regulators to resolve compliance issues; establishes permit requirements and assists in EPA, state, and local regulatory audits.
- Provides value added services and is accountable for achieving compliance to the Corning safety policy and for the implementation of the Corning safety strategy improvement initiatives.
- Develops proactive prevention systems for anticipating and responding to events.
- Provides expertise, advice, information and tools relating to effective health and safety management.
- Sets up processes to conduct suitable and sufficient risk assessments to reduce risk and identify process improvements.
- Provides safety training. Complete understanding and application of principles, concepts, practices and standards.
- Represents organization as a prime contact on projects.

The range for this position is $81,509.00 - $112,075.00. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
