What You’ll Be Doing:

As an Assembly Technician, you’ll be the mastermind behind building and testing precision optical systems and sub-assemblies that make a real impact. Working hands-on with intricate components in a cleanroom environment, you’ll prep hardware, align systems to perfection, and perform detailed tests to ensure everything meets top-notch quality standards. Think of it as solving puzzles with cutting-edge tools while following blueprints and written procedures to bring prototypes and production assemblies to life.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

Build: Get hands-on by prepping and assembling components into housings.

Get Creative: Transform hardware with tasks like painting, priming, cleaning, and prepping surfaces.

Follow the Map: Use routers, drawings, and written procedures to create flawless assemblies.

Perfect the Details: Align systems and assemblies to exact specs, using state-of-the-art technology like interferometry and open optical testing.

Document: Process and record testing results with a touch of supervision needed.

Finish Strong: Prep for finished assemblies for shipment, with a quick review from your trusted supervisor or tech III sidekick.

What We’re Looking For:

•A problem-solver who can tackle production challenges independently and knows when to seek help.

•Experience setting up and running basic optical tests without supervision is preferred.

•Strong organizational skills and flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and deadlines.

•Incredible attention to detail with a passion for delivering top-quality work.

•Ability to collect and submit data accurately for QA review.

•DMAIC yellow belt training is a plus.

Work Environment:

•Work primarily in a controlled Class 10000 cleanroom environment, with occasional tasks in a more stringent Class 1000 cleanroom for specialized projects.

•Regularly handle light to medium-weight materials, lifting from floor level to about 2 feet above bench height.

•Occasionally require assistance for heavier lifting tasks.

•Accuracy and attention to detail are critical, as errors in assembly may not be immediately noticeable.

•Operate in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and deadlines that require flexibility and adaptability.

•Work in a clean, organized, and safety-conscious setting that adheres to industry standards.
