Role Purpose
Intern will assist with environmental health and safety (EH&S) duties at a manufacturing site. Intern will work directly with EH&S Manager to plan and conduct activities designed to support the site’s environmental health and safety programs, and lower EH&S risks and support a strong EH&S culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the EHS Manager with machine guarding risk assessments for CNC machinery.
- Provide design support for safety controls and guarding on CNC machinery.
- Utilize Corning’s enterprise EHS software (Gensuite) to document and update site records related to machine guarding.
- Support the Keene site robot SME with integration and risk assessment of new robot installations.
- Update and maintain CAD drawings of building maps for emergency response systems.
- Support the review of ventilation and airflow on industrial machinery.

Experiences/Education - Required
- Currently enrolled in a 4-year engineering degree program in good academic standing as a pending Sophomore, Junior or Senior in an undergraduate program in a Mechanical Engineering major.
- At least one semester of core engineering course work completed.
- Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2026 (May 27th – July 31st, 2026) with a graduation date of December 2026 or later.
- Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity.
- Be willing to work at the posted job location: Keene, NH
- Ability to perform work independently and in a multidisciplinary team.
- Ability to interact with manufacturing personnel and staff.
- Sound problem solving and decision-making skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.

The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly. Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
