The Global Supply Management (GSM) Function is recognized as a critical function for business success. It delivers the training, tools and opportunities needed to create innovative solutions for the function & the corporation. Role Purpose
The Lead, Keene Procurement is responsible to support critical commodity/supplier relationships who can work effectively as a team with business development, program management, engineering and manufacturing. The lead will be responsible for assured supply of quality materials and services; effectively conducting supplier relationship management programs, quality audits, risk mitigation plans and low-cost sourcing solutions. Responsible for developing commodity & supply strategies which will ensure the supply of quality material and continually drive for lowest total cost. This role supports ITAR-controlled government programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in cross-functional teams focused on process improvement, cost reduction and supplier quality
- Manage ERP Suggestions daily
- Use formal supplier relationship management processes to drive continuous improvement in the supply chain
- Deploy commodity and sourcing expertise to support supplier identification, qualification, and development
- Lead transition projects with new and alternate source suppliers
- Interpret mechanical, optical and electrical engineering drawings, and have a good working knowledge of mechanical machining and optical fabrication processes
- Negotiation, execution and administration of contracts with suppliers, critical to Corning Specialty Materials
- Manage a cost reduction portfolio focused on total supply chain cost
- Assure that the ethical practices of Corning Incorporated are upheld at all times
- Ensure that the proper safety requirements are planned for and implemented in Contracts and PO's
- Manage the supplier interface to assure that customer needs are met through collaborative problem-solving and negotiations to achieve the desired outcomes
- Understand and rigorously execute the policies and processes promulgated by the Global Supply Management function
- Performance Excellence process participation and leadership on key projects
- Assist in GSM and Advanced Optics business supply management strategy development and deployment
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 3 years’ experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Quality, Supply Chain or Procurement roles.
- Strategic thinker with demonstrated decision-making, influencing, negotiation and problem-solving skills; able to drive results through others.
Experiences/Education - Desired
Desired Skills:
- Technical knowledge / experience / of optical systems and precision machining
- Lean/Six Sigma/Performance Excellence training and project experience (green or black belt certification) or CPSM / APICS certification
- Project Management skills
- Ability to lead a team decision process
- Ability to look at the data and situation and make an informed decision using best judgment
Location & Travel Requirements:
- 5-10% Domestic and International
- Hours of work/work schedule/flextime: 40 hours per week
- This position will be based at the Keene, NH plant. (Onsite)

The range for this position is $110,347.00 - $151,728.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
