The Specialty Materials segment manufactures products that provide more than 150 material formulations for glass, glass ceramics and fluoride crystals to meet demand for unique customer needs. Consequently, this segment operates in a wide variety of commercial and industrial markets that include display optics and components, semiconductor optics components, aerospace and defense, astronomy, ophthalmic products, telecommunications components and cover glass that is optimized for portable display devices.

-  In this role you will support the development of optic systems and multispectral sensors. We will have you participating in the design, prototyping, alignment, and testing of complex optical systems for Aerospace & Defense applications.

-  We need 3+ years’ experience in optics related system development with hands-on optical system product development.

-  You will work on lens design, optical system layout, tolerancing, sensitivity analysis, error budgets, optical alignment, assembly, interferometric, and optical testing.

-  We need prior experience designing optical systems and working with reflective, refractive, and diffractive

-  We need you to have knowledge of diffraction gratings, stray light, and non-sequential systems.

-  We require software expertise in Code V or ZEMAX.

-  We require a Bachelor of Science in Optical Engineering, or related degree
