Key Responsibilities

  • Schedule resources and prioritize activities to assure efficient production schedule compliance to include training activities.
  • Provide daily direction to quality and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine) employees on established procedures and policies.
  • Communicate and report production and process performance metrics to production teams, plant operations staff, and functional leaders. Ensure that quality production targets and delivery requirements are met on a daily and weekly basis.
  • Perform performance reviews and develop and reinforce career and talent development plans for salaried / indirect labor and hourly / direct labor employees.
  • Engage with plant teams and functional groups responsible for identifying and implementing process improvements and cost reduction projects.
  • Ensure the protection of Corning’s Intellectual Property (IP) is maintained.
  • Work with the plant quality manager and extended staff to set and implement short and long-term objectives aimed at achieving plant goals around safety, quality, delivery, cost, and morale.
  • Implement relevant aspects of the plant quality strategy and roadmap, which support the manufacturing strategy for the location and the division direction for quality.
  • Champion the product quality architecture necessary to prevent and detect quality issues for purchased materials and manufactured goods for the plant.
  • Execute the necessary quality management systems to ensure they are effective and aligned with customer expectations.
  • Support and participate in internal and external audits, customer visits, represent customer in the plant, support site meeting regulatory requirements.
  • Responsible for customer source inspections process for product buy-off.

Requirements

  • 6+ years in a manufacturing environment with experience in PCPD, utilizing quality systems, and data analysis.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills to effectively lead a diverse group of people and influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Leadership experience in manufacturing environment including supervisory effectiveness, conflict resolution and effective listening skills.
  • Experience with leading teams and projects to meet significant continuous improvement goals, cost reduction or performance improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently with strong time management and prioritization skills to handle multiple assignments and interact with product teams.

Desired Skills

  • BS degree preferred in Optical, Mechanical engineering or related discipline
  • Green/Black Belt Six Sigma/Lean, DMAIC, and ASQ (American Society for Quality) certification.
  • Experience in an assembly operation with the ability to read prints.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical design, GD&T, and ISO quality standards.

The range for this position is $79,166.00 - $108,854.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
