Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

Scope of Position

The OCS EM PDM Support position provides product data management and documentation support to the EM Engineering team at Corning’s Keller, Texas facility. The role is responsible for reviewing, reconciling, validating, and updating EM product records within PDM systems to help ensure engineering data is accurate, complete, and consistent. Working closely with product data owners and engineering personnel, the individual will identify and resolve data discrepancies, support improvements to data integrity, maintain organized documentation, and assist with EM Engineering initiatives as assigned by the supervisor. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, organization, communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks; familiarity with Windchill and SAP is preferred. No travel is required.

Requirements

  • Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in engineering program or equivalent.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Windchill/SAP knowledge is a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively present information.
  • Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2027 (May-August 2027) with a graduation date of December 2027 or later
  • Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity.
  • Be willing to work at the posted job location

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and reconcile EM product records.
  • Work with product data owners to improve data integrity
  • Assist in validating and updating product data in PDM
  • Support EM Engineering team initiatives as directed by the supervisor

​The range for this position is $1,635.00 - $3,185.00 biweekly.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is prescribed based on geographic location, nature of position, and year in school.
