Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
The Materials Planner ensures customer expectations for on-time delivery are met by effectively managing order acknowledgments, material availability, and supply flow. This role partners with suppliers, production teams, and customer service representatives to maintain a reliable raw-material pipeline and address daily fulfillment needs. The Materials Planner also identifies constraints, analyzes opportunities for improvement, and supports projects that strengthen department performance and enable growth across increasingly complex product families.
Key Responsibilities:
- Analyze customer orders, production capacity, and material availability to establish accurate promise ship dates.
- Develop and maintain Master Production Schedules for assigned manufacturing areas.
- Monitor inventory levels, safety stock, and replenishment strategies to optimize availability, inventory turns, and efficiency.
- Secure raw materials from internal and external suppliers in alignment with forecasts, customer demand, and production requirements.
- Coordinate timely and accurate receipt and delivery of materials to the manufacturing facility.
- Partner with Customer Service, Manufacturing, and suppliers to manage schedule changes, expedited orders, lead-time improvements, and supply constraints.
- Maintain accurate planning data in ASI, including lead times, safety-stock levels, order changes, and other critical system information.
- Participate in daily production and cross-functional meetings, continuous-improvement initiatives, and internal/external audits, including ISO, safety, 5S, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
Education and Experience – Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum 2 years planning experience
- Experience with ERP Systems
- Customer services & Leadership skills
Desired Skills:
- AS/400 MRP II and SAP Systems experience
- Power BI
- Bilingual

The range for this position is $71,930.00 - $98,904.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
