Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Scope of Position:
Position reports to Site Leader to provide operational leadership in manufacturing of optical connectivity components. Works in conjunction with plant and divisional supply chain team, PLM, quality, technology, and plant management to plan and execute to deliver high level of service and cash flow performance. Develops and recommends plant management strategies and lean tools to improve safety, quality, efficiency, productivity, and unit cost for all products. Provide direction, vision, and supervision to plant operations team members to achieve safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field of study (BS or BA).
- 3+ years of operations experience in manufacturing or military environments.
Proficiency with MS Office tools (PowerPoint, Word, Excel). - 1+ years supervisory experience leading teams.
Desired Qualifications:
- SAP knowledge and experience.
- Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies/tools such as DMAIC or Kaizen.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles.
Primary Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership to shift leads and hourly associates to achieve plant objectives related to safety, quality, productivity, delivery schedules, and unit costs.
- Supervise production schedules across all lines; coordinate weekly plans with Planning teams to ensure timely issuance of work orders/materials.
- Drive continuous improvements using lean tools like value stream mapping and Six Sigma techniques.
- Recruit/train hourly personnel; conduct annual performance appraisals while fostering professional development opportunities.
- Analyze production/financial reports; develop action plans addressing variances while supporting compliance culture initiatives.
Hours of Work/Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday core hours (40 hrs/week).
Travel Requirements:
Limited U.S./Mexico travel required.

The range for this position is $79,166.00 - $108,854.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
