Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

Purpose of Position:

Overall planning, implementation, optimizations, and logistics support for all supply chain strategies for OCS Active Electronics product lines. Collaborate with external contract manufacturing facilities, suppliers, global supply chain management, production, product line management, technology and commercial to plan and execute forecasting, procurement, supply management, inventory management, logistics operations, supplier diversity, transportation, distribution and fulfillment to meet customer requirements. Must own and resolve customer issues, run day-to-day activities, provide periodic reports, and report improvement metrics that will result in superior customer service.

 

Major Roles and Responsibilities:

•Drive supply chain effectiveness between multiple CM factories, EMS facilities, suppliers, and internal/external customers

•Responsible for managing the S&OP process, long term capacity planning, and communicating customer demand to leadership at different levels in the organization including senior level management

•Proactively anticipate potential supply gaps that may create a risk to meet customer demand in the long-term

•Represent supply chain, manufacturing, and production in all forecasting and demand planning for all Active Electronics Product lines

•Carries out effective implementation and maintenance of planning strategies to optimize inventory and service levels

•Evaluate inventory stocking programs relative to actual inventory/service levels and work with strategic and tactical planner/buyers to adjust inventory stocking plans as needed

•Support the excess and obsolescent inventory management

•Engages with product line management teams to support business priorities, contributing to define the right supply chain strategy to meet objectives

•Interacts with commercial groups as needed to support supply chain end to end collaboration activities

•Matches supply and demand to ensure appropriate capacity levels at work centers

•Tracks, communicates, and supports key metrics to achieve product team goals and objectives

•Planning and executing the storage and movement of goods between different points in the supply chain

•Coordinates facilities, people, equipment, and other resources to ensure products move within the supply chain

 

Travel and location of work:

•Up to 25% travel.

•Includes domestic and international travel to CM factories and Suppliers.

•Role based out of the Corning, Keller, TX facility.

 

Minimum Education, Skill and Experience Requirements:

•Bachelor’s degree in an associated field

•5+ years of supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment

•5+ years of experience in planning, buying, fulfillment and logics functions

•3+ years of experience with global supply chain, with a multilevel BOM products

•Experience with SAP, ORACLE or other ERP system

•Basic accounting principles

•APICS certification is preferred

•Fluency in English Other Requirements:

•Experience leading or participating in cross-functional teams across diverse time zones and cultures.

•High initiative, self-motivation, and ability to work in matrix organization.

•Flexibility to manage across time zones and culture in a multinational corporation.

•Position is in Keller, Texas.

•Position is in Singapore

•Fluency in Chinese Mandarin is a plus
