Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

The purpose of this position is:

  • Ensure that materials in various stages of shipping (finished items) are pulled and delivered to internal and/or external customers.
  • This position is for 1st shift.

This position includes significant duties such as to:

  • Pick up and deliver materials to the production floor time using forklift and/or pallet jack.
  • Ensure that transactions are properly recorded in required systems (SAP, FedEx, UPS, etc).
  • Provide accurate and responsive material stocking, inventory management, and distribution of materials.
  • Contribute to the 5S departmental goals by maintaining the cleanliness of the production, shipping and warehouse areas

Operate forklifts as required Working Conditions:

  • Team Environment.
  • Well lighted, climate controlled areas.
  • Bending, standing, or walking for approximately 6-8 hours per day; Lift up to 50 pounds, occasional lifting up to 70 pounds.
  • Work with chemical substances, heat, dust, noise, fumes odors, oil mist (None disagreeable)
  • Will require use of PPE, such as, ear protection, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, etc in identified areas

Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent

Experience:

  • 0-1 years forklift driver experience
  • 0-1 years Warehousing experience helpful
  • Basic Computer skills with Microsoft platform, Outlook and some Excel
  • Fluent in English both verbal and written
