Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

The purpose of this position is: Ensure that materials in various stages of picking/shipping/receiving (finished or raw material items) are pulled and delivered to internal and/or external customers.

 

This position includes significant duties such as to: 

  • Pick up and deliver materials to the production floor using a cart or pallet jack
  • Ensure that transactions are properly recorded in required systems (SAP, FedEx, UPS, etc.)
  • Provide accurate and responsive material stocking, inventory management, and distribution of materials
  • Contribute to the 5S departmental goals by maintaining the cleanliness of the production, shipping and warehouse areas
  • Other Warehouse duties as assigned

 

Working Conditions:

  • Team Environment with well lit, climate-controlled areas
  • Bending, standing, or walking for approximately 6-8 hours per day; frequently lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Work with chemical substances, heat, dust, noise, fumes odors, oil mist (none disagreeable)
  • May require use of PPE, such as ear protection, safety glasses, steel toe shoes, high visibility vest, etc.

 

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • One year warehouse experience
  • Basic computer skills that include the Microsoft platform, Outlook and some Excel.
  • Able to effectively communicate in English.

The range for this position is ​$19.25 hourly rate - $21.50 hourly rate.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
