Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

Scope of Position:


The purpose of this job description is to provide a general overview of responsibilities associated with the position; however, the responsibilities listed are not all-inclusive. There is an expectation that as a Keller employee, an individual may be required to perform duties other than outlined below.

 

Support position to plan, organize, and control Supply Chain operations within warehousing to optimize cost and customer service.

 

Responsible for leading the receiving of material, movement to production, and shipping activities. Assists management in resolving problems concerning over shipments, shortages, and engineering changes. Ensures compliance with well established procedures, with discretion to make minor revision to respond to atypical situations. Routine work is reviewed on a regular basis and all deviances are cleared for soundness of judgment. Administers and executes policies and procedures that typically affect individual subordinate employees. Oversees ongoing operations through direct supervision, review of logs, and reports from colleagues and subordinates. Directs daily activities and reassesses staff to ensure efficient operations. Ensures that work targets and schedules are met. Implements solutions to minor schedule delays and informs supervisor actions. Errors result in modest delays. Liaison with others at same level, and one level above and below to ensure continuity and efficiency. External contacts are unusual and involve sharing and receiving information for day-to-day activities.

 

This position will include a varying level of project work. Expect to participate in cross-functional teams within Corning to enhance our performance in areas such as inventory control, warehouse management, supply chain operations and customer service.



Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Supervise warehouse associate activities, including receiving, shipping, inventory control.
  • Ensure warehouse meets targeted receiving cycle times, shipping load dates.
  • Set and manage expectations with customer service, product line management, and planning
  • Accountability for inventory accuracy and visibility
  • Drive continuous improvements utilizing lean and six sigma supply chain tools (value stream mapping, Kaizen, DMAIC, etc.)
  • Serve as a business resource for the MES and ERP systems, working in conjunction with system SME positions
  • Serve on extended product teams providing analysis on capacity, inventory, and delivery performance
  • Responsible for the development of department personnel through establishing objectives, performance appraisal, feedback and direction that are aligned with business, product and individual development needs
  • Generate reports and analysis that increase the effectiveness of warehouse operations
  • Directly responsible for performing work in a safe manner and maintaining a safe work environment.  Responsible for his/her safety, as well as that of others that may be at the facility, whether working or visiting. Responsible for observing safe work practices and being proactive for reporting unsafe conditions.


Education and Experience -

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university
  • 2-5 years of experience in supply chain
  • Solid problem-solving skills and decision-making skills
  • Ability to multi-task; effectively prioritize and manage projects, as well as day-to-day responsibilities
  • Ability to work independently in a dynamic business environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems.  

 

Education and Experience - Desired

  • Degree in supply chain or APICS certification preferred
  • SAP experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal, throughout all levels of the organization

The range for this position is $75,761.00 - $104,172.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
