2 Openings - 1 for Weekend F/S/S and 1 for 2nd Shift.  Training will be M-F 1st Shift

The purpose of this position is:

  • Mixes chemicals and apply coatings for Kennebunk’s coatings operations.

This position includes significant duties such as:

  • Works with many different types of chemicals and performs multi-step synthesis of various chemicals used.
  • Verifies materials required to build product based on daily operator instruction sheet/procedure.
  • Works with high cost materials (e.g., chemicals, glassware, etc.).
  • Uses scales, various equipment, computer, measuring equipment and pipettor.
  • Collects and disposes of used chemicals in plant in conjunction with Safety & HAZMAT disposal contractor.
  • Obtains necessary paperwork with correct inspection process.
  • Mixes and verifies all concentration of chemicals required for assembly are within validated guidelines.
  • Follows verified and written protocols, quickly identifying deviations with engineering.
  • Collects and prepares samples for quality inspection.
  • Uses computer for data acquisition, production monitoring and quality performance.
  • Maintains accurate and timely production count and product inventory.
  • Troubleshoots issues with engineers.
  • Performs inventory of chemicals.
  • Assists engineering in development of chemical processes.
  • Maintains a clean work area and equipment.
  • Works independently.

Working Conditions:

  • Good working conditions.
  • Proper PPE required when working in different areas of the facility.
  • Training to occur on 1st shift.
  • A willingness to flex hours to 2nd shift is desired as demand ramps.

Education:

  • High School or General Education Diploma required.
  • Associates Degree in chemistry, biology, biotechnology, or lab based program is preferred.

Experience:

  • Over 1 year lab experience required to attain quality and quantity performance.
