  • Develop and build electrical and control system design solutions for proof of concept and pilot level equipment necessary for new product and process development
  • Design and develop instrumentation for process characterization
  • Produce and interpret electrical and pneumatic layout schematics
  • Programming of Logic Controllers, and functional sequencing and timing of electro-mechanical and pneumatic devices
  • Work with vendors on automation designs to meet equipment specifications, to determine feasibility, project scope, costs, and timelines
  • Define equipment and parts from external suppliers
  • Direct the installation, documentation and training of new equipment
  • Manage assigned project capital spending
  • Maintain accurate records and files according to quality standard
  • Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed
  • Responsible for project success as part of a project team


Travel Requirements: You will have domestic travel required <15%


Hours of work: Monday – Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar related degree)
  • A minimum of 3+ years related job experience


Required Skills:

  • Proficient with MS Office, Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000, Mitsubishi FX, AutoCAD Electrical
  • Deep knowledge of fundamentals of control and electrical system design and its application in automated industrial designs including specification of vision, power, sensor, inspection, and communications systems and efficiently plan and organize work tasks to meet department vital few objectives
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a strong cause-effect analytical ability to solve problems
  • Hands-on approach to prototyping and experimentation to this position


Desired Skills

  • Experience with plastic forming and/or assembly technologies
  • Experience with vacuum technologies
  • Ability to investigate and develop measurement methods / techniques for new product and process development
  • Knowledge of Solid Works 3D mechanical design software
