Scope of Position:

• Supporting product and process development to meet project team commitments • Improving existing processes, equipment and capabilities

• Supporting continuous improvement activities, new product or process introductions and cost reduction projects

• Working with other team members to solve difficult technical, engineering related problems

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Work with Scientists, Engineers and Technicians to resolve/develop products and processes

• Assure a safe work environment for self and others with operations and equipment and comply with safety and environmental regulations

• Assist in building detailed technical understanding for key process steps

• Function as a team member on multiple projects

• Assist in the development and implementation of measurement routines on high end measurement systems to determine product quality

• Troubleshoot material, process and equipment issues, identify root causes and implement corrective actions

• Implement and document material, process and/or equipment set ups or changes

• Use simple statistical tools and Designed Experiments (DOE) in process problem solving and process improvement

• Assure quality and repeatability of processes and products

 

Travel Requirements: Domestic only, 10% or less

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time: M-F, typically 8am – 5pm; Flexible hours may be required to support off-hours experimentation/operations on weekends and evenings

 

Education:

Minimum 2-year associates degree in Electronics or Engineering field

 

Required Skills:

• Automated equipment troubleshooting and repair experience

• Strong fundamental engineering analysis skills and a hands-on understanding of manufacturing processes

• Assembly and testing of small electro-mechanical devices

• Timely and accurate record keeping/documentation of work

• Motivated individual, fast learner and good interpersonal skills

• Capable of working independently

• MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

 

Desired Skills:

• Minimum four (4) years of automated equipment troubleshooting and repair experience

• Solidworks design experience

• Machine shop knowledge
