Using unique expertise in the fields of materials science, surface science, optics, biochemistry and biology, the segment provides innovative solutions that improve productivity and enable breakthrough discoveries.

 
The purpose of this position is:
  • Performs multiple job responsibilities as it relates to plant facility and grounds maintenance and upkeep.
  • Maintains interior and exterior of plant in a neat and functional manner.
  • Outside contractor site coordinator.
  • This position must be flexible as many job requirements are governed production schedules.
 
This position includes significant duties such as:
  • Performs interior plant maintenance, to include painting, miscellaneous interior facility repairs, etc.
  • Responsible for inventory and purchasing of maintenance supplies – light bulbs, cement patch, ceiling and floor tiles, paint, and other plant supplies.
  • Moves furniture and/or equipment.
  • Picks up and delivers miscellaneous items, such as lumber, supplies, etc.
  • Flexible schedule required due to production schedules.
  • Outside contractor site coordinator.
  • Resets and performs general troubleshooting of Plant Fire Alarm System when required.
  • Company vehicle maintenance, registration, inspection, etc.
  • Maintain floors, walls, ceilings, doors, and windows.
  • Repair chips, cracks, holes, damaged panels, worn finishes.
  • Replace ceiling tiles, seals, and protective finishes.
  • Paint and restore surfaces using approved materials.
  • Fixing leaks and utility-related issues.
  • Adjusting doors, locks, hinges, and closers.
  • Clearing and checking roof drainage.
  • Facility breakdowns affecting operations.
  • Moving furniture/equipment and supporting room setups.
  • Pickup/delivery of site materials and supplies.
  • General plumbing repairs.
 
Execute scheduled PM activities including but not limited to:
  • Monthly fire pump checks.
  • Hand dryer maintenance.
  • Air purifier filter replacement.
  • Elevator PM support.
  • Lab pump disinfection.
  • Ladder inspections.
  • Fall protection inspections.
  • Vehicle maintenance.
 
Criteria for Performance Evaluation:
  • Meet accuracy, quality and timing requirements associated with work assignments.
  • Attention to record keeping.
  • Willingness to work overtime to support the needs of the business.
  • Adherence to all safety procedures and Plant policies.
  • Ability to work with others.
 
Education & Skill Sets:
  • Knowledge and use of hand tools and general practices.
  • Able to safely use fabrication equipment and power tools located in the maintenance shop (drill press, brake, grinding wheel).
  • Detail oriented.
  • Self-starter, takes initiative and requires little supervision.
  • Good communication and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work on several tasks simultaneously.
  • Familiar with Maximo and able to create, complete and close WO to track time completing tasks.
 
Working Conditions:
  • Disagreeable working conditions.
  • Issues with heat, cold, dust, fumes, and noise occur.
 
Education:
  • High school Diploma or GED required.

 

Experience:

  • Minimum 4 years’ experience performing facility related maintenance tasks.

The range for this position is ​$27.75 hourly rate - $31.48 hourly rate.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
