Tool Room: Mold Maker

Location: Kennebunk, Maine

1st Shift: 7am to 3pm with the Overtime Available

 

Required Education and Experience:

  • 10 years mold making experience building and troubleshooting molds.

 

Position Purpose:

  • The Mold Maker sets up and operates a wide range of machining equipment to fabricate complex objects, fixtures, jigs, etc. as needed.
  • The Mold Maker assists in troubleshooting and repairing all molds in the plant.

 

Desired Skills and Position Duties: 

  • Knowledge of Hot Runner Systems and ability to repair.
  • General knowledge of Injection molding principles.
  • Experience with CNC lathe and milling center.
  • Hand polishing mold components to A1 finish
  • Surface grinding
  • Experience in a team environment.
  • Ability to dismantle tools checking for abnormalities and repairing when required.
  • Some knowledge of coatings and welding differences for repairs.
  • Some knowledge of programming CNC equipment.
  • Assist in maintaining all production molds in a state of readiness.
  • Ability to understand blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the method of fabrication.
  • Suggest mold modifications for improvements based on experience/history.
  • Must have the capability of working on several jobs simultaneously.
  • Assist or train others in their lines of expertise.
  • Keeps work areas neat and orderly, observing all Corning safety procedures.

The range for this position is ​$29.25 hourly rate - $36.12 hourly rate.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
