Scope of Position:

In this role, you will provide direct support Performance Excellence (PEx) & Lean initiatives within the Kennebunk Plant Operations group. This position will partner with multiple cross-functional groups to facilitate PEx initiatives that directly support key organizational objectives and strategies that impacts QCDMS+I. You will help develop and deploy standardized methods and support continuous improvement projects including the execution of the PEx / Lean strategy, training, tracking metrics, skills development, and continuous improvement projects following the DMAIC Methodology.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

  • Manage and facilitate the PEx / Lean programs across the plant (5S, Gemba Walk, iKaizen, & Blitz Events)
  • Support and execute to the PEx / Lean roadmap that aligns with key plant and division manufacturing strategies and vital few objectives
  • Work with cross functional teams and act as the liaison to the Operations Department
  • Effectively support or lead continuous improvement projects (Muda elimination opportunities, process flow improvements, layout/design work, capacity analysis, & labor utilization improvements)
  • Maintain the plant value stream maps and facilitate quarterly sessions to ensure tool sustainment
  • Train employees on PEx / Lean tools, as needed to support their job functions, and build their capability to apply these tools/methodologies to their daily tasks
  • Coach and develop DMAIC Green belts to expand the methodology skill set at the plant Travel Requirements Anticipate limited domestic travel to visit other plants, distribution centers, corporate locations, and vendors Hours of Work & Expectations

Standard business hours:

 Monday – Friday, 40 hours

  • Work may require limited overtime and will require support on each shift
  • 25% - 50% of time will be spent on the production floor to maintain an open relationship and communication with the plant workforce

Required Skills

  • High school diploma/GED
  • 3+ years of experience in a PEx / Lean role OR manufacturing environment
  • Understanding of LEAN tools (5S methodology, standardize work, ikaizen, gemba, single piece flow, kanban, 8 lean wastes, SMED, visual management, VSM, etc.)
  • Experience in project management and leading a cross functional team • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Proficient technical writing skills Desired Skills • Associates Degree
  • DMAIC Green Belt Certification • Knowledge of Product Quality Architecture (PQA)
  • Strong statistical & data analytical skills Soft Skills
  • Excellent team facilitation / leadership skills and teamwork / collaborative style
