The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies.  Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes.  IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

Scope of Position:

We are seeking a dynamic Senior IT Manufacturing Systems Analyst who thrives in problem-solving, innovative thinking, and collaboration to support our factory operations and manufacturing systems. This position offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, contribute to impactful projects, and develop solutions that drive efficiency and productivity in a high-performing manufacturing environment.

 

This position provides operations support and maintenance for hardware and software used by Mfg. systems on the shop floor. Analyzes business needs for new applications to ensure a high level of runtime performance, availability of technology tools, user assistance, and security for applications, infrastructure, and hardware components.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Analyze and resolve customer problems by identifying root causes and developing innovative, effective solutions.
  • Configure systems to meet business needs, minimizing reliance on customizations.
  • Assist with implementation, upgrades, and modifications of IT solutions, ensuring clear communication, documentation, and training for end-users.
  • Manage multiple tasks and deadlines while regularly communicating progress.
  • Independently gather information and take initiative to propose remedies to improve workflow efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with risk management policies and procedures for new and existing IT solutions.
  • Deploy and troubleshoot IT infrastructure and equipment to optimize manufacturing capabilities.
  • Manage access requests and approvals with appropriate documentation and change control processes.
  • Create and maintain documentation for plant systems and applications.
  • Maintain data systems, reporting tools, and visual displays based on business requirements.
  • Support production processes by resolving technical issues with IT systems in a timely and efficient manner.

 

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Open to candidates from diverse industries who possess strong technical skills and a willingness to learn manufacturing systems and concepts.

 

Required Skills

  • Strong programming skills (VB.Net, C#.Net, XML, XSLT, SOAP, Web Services).
  • Experience with databases such as Microsoft SQL Server and Oracle Database Server.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Business Intelligence Tools (SSAS, SSIS, SSRS).
  • Awareness of IT security and network risks.
  • Ability to manage priorities effectively and collaborate in a team environment.

 

Desired Skills (Not Required, but a Plus):

  • Familiarity with manufacturing execution systems (e.g., CAMSTAR, OpCenter) or willingness to learn.
  • Familiarity with data connectivity platforms like OSI PI and Kepware.
  • Knowledge of OPC (OLE for Process Control).
  • Experience with Power BI for reporting and visualization.
  • Exposure to ERP solutions.
  • Understanding performance excellence methodologies such as Six Sigma.

 

Travel

  • Negligible. Potential for domestic travel once or twice a year.

 

Hours of work/work schedule/flextime:

  • M-F 8am-5pm
  • 24x7 On-call rotation, shared with other team members

 

 

This position does not support immigration sponsorship.  

The range for this position is $75,470.00 - $103,772.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
