First Shift - 9am to 5pm Mon-Fri

Purpose of Position:

  • Performs the physical receipt and movement of raw materials, WIP, finished goods and non-inventory items throughout the plant and performs computer transactions to maintain accurate inventory quantities.

Major Responsibilities:

  • Utilize documented shipping and receiving operating procedures and update when necessary.
  • Unload trailers to receive items. Note all damages and reports to supervisor.
  • Open bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Create item storage labels with identifying information on the printer and apply them to inventory items.
  • Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or bins. Full skids are wrapped and totes are taped together at the top to prevent spills.
  • Sort and store perishable goods in refrigerators, freezers or other controlled environment locations.
  • Weigh or count items for distribution within the plant to ensure conformance to company standards.
  • Use software skills to generate information and perform inventory transactions on the computer system, as a result of receiving, storing, and distributing raw materials, WIP, finished goods and non-inventory items throughout the plant.
  • Use scanners to update material movement in the computer system. Verify that scanning transactions for both the Warehouse and Production departments are accurately reflected in the computer system. Correct all errors.
  • Utilize production schedules, customer orders, work order pick lists, shipping orders or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed based on FIFO.
  • Convey materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or other designed areas via low lifts or fork trucks.
  • Receive and issue chemicals to the production floor and the laboratories.
  • Perform shipping transactions, create all required paperwork, and load trailers.
  • Perform daily cycle counts of items in the warehouse and adjust the computer system in order to maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Perform daily maintenance of the fork trucks, including battery water levels, brakes, horn, tires, charging batteries and checking side shifters and tilts – and document as required.
  • Provide skids to production areas.
  • Clean warehouse area weekly.
  • Conduct monthly safety inspections of the warehouse area and alert appropriate personnel regarding potential safety issues.
  • Cross train on all receiving, shipping, and inventory functions.
