Position Summary

  • Hot Cell Services, located in Kent, WA is part of Corning Incorporated, one of the world’s oldest and largest glass companies. We are the leader in the radiation shielding protection industry and we have been manufacturing radiation shielding windows for over 40 years.  While a part of a multibillion-dollar corporation, we are a small (11 employees) operation in total control of our product.
  • Seeking a motivated individual with the desire to learn glass-handling, product assembly and field service. This entry-level position will truly offer cross training and experience in all of these functions and hence will keep the right candidate challenged at all times.
  • This is a full time position, 32 to 45 hours per week, with paid overtime to meet occasional excess workload requirements
  • This position offers additional ($7.00/hr. on top of base rate) field pay for travel to customer sites for 1 to 3 weeks at a time
  • Hours are 6am to 2:30pm Monday to Friday

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Will participate in manufacturing engineering and planning activities to assist Assembly Lead in assembly, testing, handling, transporting and packaging of radiation shielding windows (Technology AAS degrees candidates)
  • Assist the Field Service Supervisor in on-site repair, installation, and maintenance of our products both in the shop and at customer sites (domestic and international)
  • Assist the Operations Manager in manufacturing planning activities (AAS degreed candidates)
  • Assist the Engineering Manager in design review as applicable to manufacturability of sub-components (AAS degreed candidates)

 

Qualifications

  • Valid Driver’s License is required
  • Fork lift truck certification a plus
  • Must have the ability to lift 70+ pounds
  • Clean criminal background check will be required
  • Travel of 25-45% required
  • Hourly wage (base rate) $25+/hour DOE + benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401k, pension, disability, & life)

 

Education

  • HS diploma is required / Technology AAS degree is desired

The range for this position is $23.00-$27.50.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO or, if applicable, as otherwise dictated by the appropriate Collective Bargaining Agreement.
