Head of Commercial (m/f/d)

for Laser Processing Tools

 

In this function you can anticipate an interesting, challenging, and versatile field of activity. You will be leading our commercial team in an innovative and international group environment by managing the commercial team to ensure consistent, profitable growth in sales revenues through positive planning, implementing, and directing sales activities. You will be reporting to the Business Operations Manager and be part of the CLT business team.

 

Innovative and challenging - your tasks are demanding

  • Actively contribute with innovative ideas and improvements and thus be responsible for shaping the future of our Laser business
  • Conduct market research, customer and competitor analysis and define the strategy to develop selected markets and application areas jointly with business leaders.
  • Identify objectives, strategies, and action plans to grow short and long-term sales and earnings notably through key account development and by expanding the existing customer base
  • Lead an agile commercial team and supervise a sales and marketing team of 4 members
  • Drive the entire sales process and strategy
  • Perform sales activities and negotiate contracts terms and conditions including sales prices, services, discounts, etc. in consultation with Head Quarter and Legal
  • Coordinate company resources to ensure top market presence
  • Collaborate with Program-, Product- and Project Managers to manage and improve the specification process and communication to the customer of resulting commitments. Internal representative to convey VOC - Accurately forecast annually, quarterly, and monthly revenue streams. Drive budget and 5 years plan exercise for top line
  • Participate at trade shows and conventions Professionally and personally

 

Your qualifications are convincing

  • University degree in engineering and /or optoelectronics with in-depth knowledge in the field of laser technology is desired or the equivalent combination of formal education and experience
  • 10+ years in a Commercial leadership role or New Business Development
  • Deep technology understanding and appetite to help building a technology roadmap
  • Experience in selling complex capital equipment, preferably laser in the laser systems sector
  • Experience in developing marketing and sales strategies
  • Management experience and strong leadership skills towards employees and customers
  • Team player to support internally technical requirements and help building value prop
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills to interpret sales performance and market trend information
  • Fluent oral and written communication skills in English and German
  • Willingness to travel globally 50% of your time (Europe, NA and AP)

 

Desirable knowledge and experience in/with:

  • Ability to speak in conferences on technical topics if needed
  • Solid connections in the laser industry and field of applications
  • Able to navigate within IP environment
  • Mastering of a third language (e.g., Spanish, Italian or French)
