Scope of Position (i.e. projects involved with and role within group):

  • Regional lead for EMEA optical fiber market development function.
  • Develop and execute regional market development plans to drive value-added product placement within the competitive arena.
  • Strategically guide and coordinate the regional marketing communications program to support delivery of commercial sales objectives: collaborates with cross-functional services to leverage web marketing, tradeshow activity, and direct marketing campaigns.
  • Establish robust enduring collaborations with customer and industry partners to optimize Corning advantaged product adoption and sales.
  • Develop and deliver thought leadership techno-commercial promotional material and analyses (e.g. value-selling presentations, industry position papers, webinars, total cost of ownership studies) to promote Corning optical fiber products in EMEA and on a Global platform.
  • Provide EMEA market and product evolution guidance to leadership and PLM through annual the market development product roadmapping process.

 

Travel Requirements (please note if international):

  • 30% domestic & international travel

 

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

  • Job Location –Lakeside UK preferred, but location may be flexed for highly-qualified candidates. Partial home-working schedule can be considered.

Required Skills:

  • Strong leadership skills, with experience of developing and executing techno-commercial strategy to maximise market access and product value extraction in a global business.
  • Expert communication and networking skills: demonstrated ability to work effectively across organizational verticals in commercial, technical, and manufacturing to define and implement product and marketing strategy, and an ability to leverage leadership support to accelerate programs as required.
  • Working knowledge of optical fiber technology, optical system performance, optical network architectures and installation environments.
  • Sound knowledge of commercial processes related to market analysis, commercialization and value proposition development
  • Excellent customer facing and industry liaison networking and negotiation skills: ability to liaise with technologically astute customers/partners at senior levels.
  • Proven people and project management skills (planning, mobilizing people, driving action, managing progress, measuring performance)

 

Education and Experience:

  • Honours degree (or higher) in a relevant field with 8+ years’ industry experience, including function or project leadership experience, coupled with exposure to technology/product development and experience in commercial roles such as market development, product line management, sales engineering support or sales

OR

  • Proven extensive equivalent communications industry experience (10+years) including function or project leadership experience, coupled with exposure to communications network design and technology/product development and experience in commercial roles such as market development, product line management, sales engineering support or sales
