Role Purpose

This position oversees plant administration, coordinates training and HR activities, and ensures compliance with legal requirements. The role involves managing HR programs, processes, and policies, promoting Corning Values, and fostering a positive work environment. Responsibilities include handling administrative tasks to support the site, maintaining training records, aligning training systems with job requirements, and managing human resources processes and systems. Ensuring data integrity in training and HR systems is crucial. The position also involves providing weekly performance reports to assist the Plant Leadership Team (PLT) in measuring plant performance and implementing key programs and projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer training information in the training system and provide reports to supervisors and plant leadership as required.
  • Monitor training compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure adequate training levels before SOP implementation.
  • Coordinate new hire orientation and collect necessary documentation.
  • Update and maintain data integrity in training and HR systems to ensure accuracy.
  • Gather and analyze program and training data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Review and audit processes, making recommendations for improvements.
  • Provide badging and visitor support. Order and replenish office supplies.
  • Provide administrative support to the plant manager and staff, including executive visit coordination, visitor management, presentation preparation, and group visits/tours.
  • Coordinate facility activities such as training events, plant visits, celebrations, and service award events.
  • Prepare and analyze various data reports related to financial headcount, recognition reporting, time to fill openings, plant service, annual staffing, etc.
  • Serve as the HR/Payroll administrator for non-exempt and hourly employees, overseeing the Kronos system, processing payroll for facility, auditing employee time and attendance, supervisor training, and monitoring holiday and shift patterns for accuracy.
  • Develop plant communication and training calendars and share them with the organization.
  • Act as primary point of contact for employees' general inquiries/requests.
  • Recommend areas for standardization of HR programs, processes, and policies to streamline administration and reduce costs.
  • Analyze and report on data within HR systems. Assign appropriate confidentiality levels to materials and ensure compliance.
  • Interact with external contacts in addition to maintaining internal customer relations.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Associate’s degree in Business, General Administration, or a related field is required; a Bachelor’s degree (BS) is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in high-level administrative roles, coordination, HR administration, or related areas
  • Prior experience working in a manufacturing environment is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively use tools such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and enterprise systems like PeopleSoft, SAP, and KRONOS.
  • Proven success in providing administrative support to teams or managers, with experience in a plant environment preferred.
  • Strong focus on accuracy and precision in all tasks. 
  • Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with individuals at all organizational levels, from executives to frontline employees. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

The range for this position is $60,570.00 - $83,285.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
