Serum Import/Export Specialist provides necessary support to Serum Produce Line Manager to ensure prompt and compliant important and export of biologic products globally. The core focus of this role will be regarding biologics product stewardship and import/ export requirements. Role will work closely with regulatory group to stay abreast of current import/export requirements. . The position requires interaction with individuals in all areas of Corning including Sales, Technical Support, Order Service, Forecasting, Inventory Control, Manufacturing, Supply Chain Management, Quality, Regulatory Affairs and R&D to assure that customers’ needs are met. The successful candidate will understand the sales process from initial customer contact through successful use of Corning products in the different workflows that require Media & Serum.
Key Responsibilities:
- Main focus on ensuring thorough oversight of import/ export documentation, including drafting and submission. Expected to resolve any import/ export issues efficiently with minimal oversight.
- Support maintenance of technical files and Certificates of Suitability filing with EDQM as well as other global regulatory agencies.
- Collaborates with USDA on regulatory compliance activities including regulatory approvals, import/export compliance, traceability, quarantine, safety testing and affidavits.
- Works with PLM to identify import/export needs for customers and ensures product inventory is compliant and appropriate documentation prepared and filed.
- Match available inventory to customer specifications, especially Import/Export requirements
- Maintain effective, regular communications with global sales and marketing groups
- Follow up with sales representatives to ensure that reserves are released, or a PO is placed.
- Meet regularly with Finance, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Forecasting Departments
- Regular tracking of product line performance according to key metrics
- Other job duties as required.
Requirements:
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Bioengineering or related field. Prefer Chemistry or Biology degree programs
- Previous experience with biologics/ animal-based life science products; preferably serum and quality systems.
- Preferred experience with USDA regulated product and FBS or other biological products.
- Ability to work across matrix organizations and external consultants.
- Excellent communication and organization skills required.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical/problem-solving skills.
- Ability to analyze, assess, and critically evaluate products and markets.
- Travel Requirements: Up to 25%
- Onsite work schedule

The range for this position is $68,325.00 - $93,947.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
