Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
Analyzes the cause of equipment breakdowns. Develops preventative maintenance programs. Coordinates the maintenance requirement specifications with an equipment engineer for the design of new machinery. May encompass job duties in the manufacturing engineer discipline. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercises judgment within generally defined practices and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure the total availability of the productive equipment of the plant through the fulfillment of preventive and predictive maintenance.
- Prepare the preventive routines of the equipment and establish the frequency of application. Keep records for analysis and improvement actions.
- Manage the staff under your charge to provide the best service with the best quality, complying with all safety regulations.
- Control the budgets of the apartment. of maintenance
- Supervise the production tools and equipment in order to meet the production requirements, consequently the customer's requirements.
- Supervise the corrective maintenance activities for the correct execution of the same with the required quality and in the shortest possible time.
Experiences/Education - Required
- Bachelor of Science (Engineering)
- 5 years of experience in a similar position, knowledge of electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
- Desirable experience in automation and control.
- Demonstrated track record of engineering / technical accomplishment such as delivery of sustainable incremental improvement, step change in capability / performance, etc
- Demonstrated delivery of results through project and organizational leadership
- Demonstrated track record (Performance Results and People Development)
- Certified Green Belt
- Experience in operations and/or engineering with progressive responsibilities
- Experience managing the talent development strategy for the department, including programs to attract, develop and retain key talent
- Leader, analytical, with a service attitude, organized, metrics (PM vs. CM, Uptime, MTTR, MTBF, etc.)
Experiences/Education - Desired
- Master of Science (Engineering)
- Experience across multiple organizations/plants
- Knowledge of manufacturing accounting and control
- Knowledge of manufacturing excellence tools (AME, KT, Lean)
- Experience with industrial labor relations (union facilities)
- Experience with cross-functional collaboration
