Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

QA Automation Lead




Corning’s Technology Center, Montreal (CTCM) is a team of developers that form the epicenter of software innovation to support the Corning Optical Communications division business.

The responsibility of the CTCM is to discover, develop and deliver software solutions using leading-edge technologies for Web and Mobile app development, Mixed Reality, AI, Cloud Computing, etc. In a nutshell, working in the CTCM team means getting the chance to work on fun and innovative projects.




We are looking for a talented and motivated QA Automation Lead who can hit the ground running and help us standardize our quality processes across our agile teams. As a member of an agile team, not only will you participate and help us deliver quality software but will also act as a cross-functional leader for our other QA developers.


To be specific, responsibilities will include:


  • Support day-to-day activities of QA staff
  • Standardize QA practices and tools across agile teams
  • Coach and mentor team members
  • Ensure QA team members meet quality expectations and deadlines
  • Design, implement, and maintain automated tests
  • Document test cases and test-related procedures
  • Investigate, report and track software defects
  • Collaborate with the entire team to understand requirements and to coordinate on bug fixes
  • Continuously self-learn and evolve following the latest relevant technologies




Here is what we are looking for – if you have it, let’s talk


  • BSc degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant field experience
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in a QA developer role
  • Experience as a team leader would be an asset
  • Experience with Jira would be an asset
  • Experience in developing automation tests for Web and Mobile applications
  • Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL databases
  • Strong programming experience in Object Oriented programming (C#, .NET)
  • Strong oral and written communication skills in English and French
  • Relevant experience in front-end development by using a framework like React JS (or AngularJS) will be considered an asset
