POSITION DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Reporting to the Director of HR and Recruitment, your job responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

 

  • Provide administrative support of a responsible and confidential nature
  • Maintain confidential information through the ATS and HRIS
  • Assist with composing and sending HR related correspondence, preparation and distribution of forms and reports, organizational charts, documents and other materials as needed in both French and English (including but not limited to local pay equity filing, office de la langue française filing and audits, Canada’s top employer competition, unemployment office correspondence, government subsidy applications for French language course, internships, etc.)
  • Assist in the coordination and execution of both Corning and local required HR initiatives, processes and policies
  • Coordination of in-person and virtual meetings with both internal and external participants including but not limited to all-hands, coffee klatches, training, and information sessions
  • Assist in the onboarding process by completing various activities that may include but are not limited to background checks investigations, drafting offer letters, completing and processing new hire documentation, coordinating New Hire Orientations
  • Assist in finance processes such as: creation and submission of purchase orders, expense reports and submission of budget review for the HR department as well as updating and processing of consulting agreements
  • Provide administrative support with employee health care and investment benefits (enrollment, modifications, terminations)
  • Provide administrative support and task execution for HR led committees, programs and initiatives including but not limited to:  Social, Health & Safety, Corporate Social Responsibility, Francization, Internships, Employee suggestion program, Recognizing Excellence, Corning values, iDMAICs, DARM, Top Employer Award, Gensuite, monitoring of access to building during COVID accommodations, etc.
  • Assist in roll-out, communication and monitoring of HR processes including but not limited to performance appraisals, annual salary reviews, talent planning, compliance initiatives, etc.
  • Provide first level support to employee queries regarding HR related matters (benefits, policies, procedures)
  • Assist in learning and development activity coordination, supporting and coordinating various training initiatives with internal and external sources
  • Maintain hard and soft copy files
  • Collect and compile data as requested from a variety of sources and prepare appropriate reports for analysis.

 

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of 3 years related experience in a recruitment and/or human resources support role
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management or similar will be considered a strong asset
  • Experience working in a fast-paced environment
  • Highly effective interpersonal and written communication skills required
  • Strong work ethic and naturally motivated to 'get things done' in a fast-paced and evolving business environment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality is a must
  • Strong follow-through, problem solving and attention to detail
  • Ability to set priorities and work effectively
  • Must have excellent organizational, logistical, strategic planning, and time management skills
  • Must be fully bilingual (French & English) and must have excellent spoken and written skills in both languages
