Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

Corning Technology Center, Montreal (CTCM) is an advanced research and development team focused on developing innovative software solutions to increase customer adoption of new and existing Corning products. Our focus is to deliver the best user experience across all our services while maintaining innovation by using leading-edge technologies while preserving a startup culture.
RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for a talented, creative, and motivated product owner who can hit the ground running, and work with our software development, and PLM teams. The primary role is to be the voice of customers’ needs, desires, and wishes, while identifying common themes. Time will be spent deciphering verbal and nonverbal interactions with customers, deciding what is valuable, then prioritizing accordingly. The candidate should be passionate about uncovering customer pain points, identifying areas where innovative software solutions matter, as well as:
• Champion the vision: collaborate with technical and commercial stakeholders to uncover customer requirements, translate needs into software specifications, and drive execution to generate business value for Corning
• Lead Agile execution: identify Minimum Viable Product (MVP) phases, write user stories, manage backlogs, plan & schedule feature releases, participate in development scrums, and facilitate user testing & feedback
• Deliver value offering: integrate individual tools into cohesive software platform, understand user journey mapping techniques, define performance metrics, and benchmark product value
REQUIREMENTS
• University diploma in Computer Science, Engineering, or relevant work experience
• 8+ years of experience as a Product Owner or similar role
• Experience in software development and project management
• Experience working with UX/UI designers, developers, QA teams, and end users
• At ease in a fast-paced multi-tasking environment
• Entrepreneurial spirit, self-motivated, and self-starter
