Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

UX Designer



Corning’s Technology Center, Montreal (CTCM) is a team of developers who are responsible for software innovations within Corning while maintaining a startup spirit.

The responsibility of the CTCM is to discover, develop and deliver software solutions using leading-edge technologies for Web and Mobile app development, Mixed Reality, AI, Cloud Computing, etc. In a nutshell, working in the CTCM team means getting the chance to work on stimulating and innovative projects.




We are looking for a talented and motivated UX designer who can hit the ground running and integrate with our design team. As a member of our team, your main responsibility will be envisioning and leveraging the user experience of our applications.


  • Collaboration with various team members (QA, Architect, UI Designer, Product Owner, etc.) as our user representative to design a user-friendly product experience.
  • Identify the needed research methods, create research plans, and present the results in a structure way using personas or journey maps.
  • Structure and conduct effective interviews to reveal user needs and pain points.
  • Plan, execute, assess, and present usability tests and heuristic evaluations.
  • Organize content in a coherent information architecture.
  • Create and communicate task flows.
  • Create interactive prototypes to demonstrate and test design solutions.
  • Work from and contribute to our design system and UI pattern library.



  • Experience in UX design.
  • Knowledge in prototyping tools: Axure, Justinmind, UXPin, Figma or Adobe XD, etc.
  • Knowledge in design tools: Figma, Adobe XD, Sketch, etc.
  • Great capacity to communicate ideas and convince people.
  • Creative, autonomous, and resourceful.



  • Up-to-date knowledge of UX best practices.
  • Understand established and evolving standards as well as best practices for human-computer interactions.
  • Understand the opportunities and limitations of the technology that will express the design solution.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast paced, collaborative environment.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills (English)
