Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
About the Job
CTCM is currently seeking a talented UX Designer to join our collaborative design team. In this role, you will work closely with other designers, developers, and product owners. Your primary responsibility will be to envision and enhance the user experience of our applications.
What You Will Be Doing
- Identify appropriate research methods and develop research plans.
- Conduct effective interviews to uncover user needs and pain points.
- Present research findings through structured deliverables such as personas and customer journey maps.
- Advocate for the user throughout the project lifecycle.
- Plan and conduct usability tests and heuristic evaluations.
- Organize content into a coherent information architecture.
- Create and communicate task flows, screen flows, and site maps to diverse audiences.
- Develop interactive, shareable prototypes to demonstrate and test design solutions.
- Document interaction requirements and clearly communicate expectations to technical teams.
- Contribute to and maintain the design system and UI pattern library.
What You Bring With You
- Up-to-date knowledge of UX best practices.
- Understanding of established and emerging standards in human-computer interaction.
- Awareness of the capabilities and limitations of the technologies used to implement design solutions.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- A diploma or relevant post-secondary education is an asset.
What You Need to Have
- 5+ years of proven experience in UX design.
- A portfolio that showcases your design thinking and process.
- Expertise in prototyping tools such as Axure, Justinmind, UXPin, Figma, or Adobe XD.
- Proficiency in design tools like Figma, Adobe XD, and Sketch.
- Strong ability to communicate ideas and persuade stakeholders.
- Creative, autonomous, and resourceful mindset.
Language Requirement:
This role requires bilingual proficiency in French and English. English is essential, as the position involves extensive collaboration with cross-functional teams and customers worldwide, where it serves as the primary language of communication.
