Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Scope of Position:
The Business Engagement IT Site Leader is responsible for the flawless operation of IT systems and services to the manufacturing plant Mszczonow. The role includes the delivery of initiatives that support plant and business strategy to achieve desired business outcomes under alignment with global division IT standards. This involves appropriately allocating IT resources and capabilities all well leveraging global service functions operating overall as “OneIT” department to the business stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Lead, mentor, and develop the site IT team to ensure high‑quality support for plant operations
- Align plant IT processes with global standards and the divisional IT strategy
- Oversee all aspects of Industrial Manufacturing Systems (IMS), including budgeting, planning, and compliance
- Ensure stable and consistent IT service delivery and cyber security compliance meeting defined performance metrics
- Manage and deliver IT projects on time, within scope, and within budget through effective prioritization and resource allocation
- Partner with the Division IT Manager to deploy standardized solutions while addressing site‑specific needs
- Serve as the primary liaison between plant leadership and the IT organization, ensuring business requirements are understood and reflected in IT services
- Maintain a strong on‑floor presence to assess operational needs and support continuous improvement initiatives
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering
- Min. 5 years of professional experience, preferably in manufacturing; experience in team leadership would be an advantage
- Strong leadership and demonstrated project management capability
- Strategic thinking with ability to build and execute plans aligned to business and IT objectives
- Budget management and forecasting experience
- Excellent communication, time‑management, conflict resolution and prioritization skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑moving manufacturing environment
DESIRED:
- Technical background in Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
- Experience with Lean and/or Performance Excellence manufacturing techniques
- Experience with newest technology (PBI, Snowflake, Data Lake and Databrics), AI, ML
