Scope:

 

In this role as a District Sales Manager, Northwest, you will retain and penetrate accounts in a manner that meets or exceeds the business needs of key customers, differentiates Corning’s Life Sciences division within the marketplace, and supports the achievement of the division’s sales and profit objectives. We look for you to develop new markets/customers/ applications. You will interact with senior external personnel on significant technical and commercial matters often requiring coordination between departments and organizations. We look for you to possesses the ability to influence organizations both internally and externally.

 

 

Required Education/Experience:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree required (in Life Sciences preferred)
  • 4+ years sales experience
  • 3+ years lab experience desired

 

Required Skills:

 

  • Strong interpersonal skills and sales management capabilities. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Proficient computer/data analysis skills (Excel, Outlook E-Mail, Word, Power Point).
  • Previous sales experience with record of meeting or exceeding sales budget.
  • Proficient in distribution channel management.
  • Problem-solving and conflict management skills.
  • Business skills, financial analysis (sales analysis, trend reporting, usage reporting, pricing analysis).
  • Organization skills, planning/time management.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Excel at remote work/supervision.
  • Computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Word, Access, Microsoft BI).

 

 

Day to Day Responsibilities:

 

  • Meet or exceed sales budget for individual territory budget.
  • Lead and develop a team of Account Managers at the field level.
  • Build strong relationships with customers and distributors.
  • Implement aggressive growth-driven programs with distribution.
  • Build relationships with all internal functional groups.
  • Create, implement, and maintain a sales plan that meets or exceeds performance expectations.
  • Know CLS products and channel/market/customer dynamics and drivers.
  • Manage all facets of responsibilities within the framework for Corning’s Values.
  • Territory:  North West US

 

 

Travel Requirements:

 

  • ~25% travel

 

 

Hours of work/work schedule/flex-time:

 

  • Monday – Friday (40 hours/week)

 

 

Desired Skills:

 

  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to use and navigate the Corning Life Science Customer Relationship Management database.
  • Creative promotional and account management approaches.
  • Executive presence and ability to work with senior levels internally and externally. 
  • Experience with distribution and managing channels.
  • Proficient in SFDC.
  • Strong business acumen - experience with financial modeling

The range for this position is $110,138.00 - $151,440.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
