Scope of Position:
Corning's Cables Division is growing its digital transformation capabilities, and we're looking for a Digital Analyst to serve as the critical link between manufacturing operations and digital execution. In this role, you'll translate manufacturing priorities, process improvement opportunities, and operational constraints into clear, structured requirements that drive meaningful digital solutions across our plant network. You'll partner with operations, Lean/Continuous Improvement (CI) teams, and IT to scope, document, and deliver impactful digital projects — and help establish the standards that shape how solutions are built across the division.
Primary Day-to-Day Responsibilities
- Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for digital projects across the Cables Division portfolio
- Translate manufacturing operations and process improvement opportunities into structured requirements, user stories, and solution scopes
- Conduct process analysis at manufacturing plants to identify automation and digitization opportunities and validate proposed solutions in partnership with Lean/CI teams
- Author and maintain requirements standards, templates, and design patterns; review plant-built digital solutions for standards adherence and cross-plant reusability potential
- Collaborate with central IT on solution design to ensure technical feasibility and alignment with platform and architecture standards
- Use AI tools to accelerate requirements development, documentation, and stakeholder validation; coach plant-level team members on requirements practices
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Industrial, Manufacturing, Chemical, Mechanical, or related field), Information Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5+ years of experience in process engineering, manufacturing engineering, or business analysis in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated ability to translate manufacturing operations and process needs into structured digital or IT requirements
- Working knowledge of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), data historians, and manufacturing analytics platforms
- Experience using AI tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, or similar) to accelerate requirements development and documentation
- Familiarity with Lean / Continuous Improvement (CI) methodologies and tools
- Strong process analysis, process mapping, and communication skills — with the ability to engage stakeholders from the plant floor to the executive level
- Willingness to travel to Cables Division manufacturing sites (approximately 25–30%)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with business analyst frameworks such as BABOK (Business Analysis Body of Knowledge) or agile user story methodologies
- Experience coaching or mentoring cross-functional team members or plant-level resources on requirements practices
- Familiarity with multi-site digital solution deployment in a manufacturing environment
