Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose
The EHS Technician will support continuous safety and environmental improvements in all TCP process areas. Improvement opportunities may originate from OTIS and iKaizen submissions, Gemba walk feedback, injury and near-miss data, audit findings, and other sources. The EHS Technician will also ensure regulatory compliance obligations are monitored and remain in compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor OTIS and iKaizen submissions, ensuring timely completion and effective implementation of improvement projects.
- Track and follow up on feedback from Gemba walks and audits, supporting the development and closure of corrective action plans.
- Analyze injury and near-miss data to identify trends and prioritize continuous improvement initiatives.
- Utilize Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) tools to establish, maintain, and periodically update risk ratings across the facility.
- Serve as an active member of the Ergonomics Team, conducting risk assessments, identifying ergonomic issues, and driving ergonomic improvements.
- Lead and participate in Operational Learning Teams (OLTs) to promote incident learning and proactive risk reduction.
- Conduct routine inspections of hazardous waste, non-regulated waste, recycling areas, and flammable storage cabinets; implement corrective actions and process improvements as needed.
- Support and sustain 5S initiatives to improve workplace organization, standardization, and overall operational efficiency.
- Provide support to site EHS programs, policies, and compliance initiatives.
- Assist with employee training and awareness related to safety, environmental, and ergonomic practices.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with all site functions and leadership teams to drive a strong safety culture.
Experiences/Education - Required
- High School or General Education Diploma (GED).
- Strong knowledge of the manufacturing processes.

- Strong knowledge of fiber optic cable manufacturing processes.

The range for this position is $59,090.00 - $81,250.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
