IT Controls Systems Technical Leader

Corning Optical Communications LLC seeks IT Controls Systems Technical Leader to work in Newton, NC. Identify new IT technologies to support optical fiber & cable manufacturing; execute IT strategies for digital transformations; oversee disaster recovery planning for IT systems; own server design & configure Plant Historian and Machine Recipe Systems; apply understanding of how process data systems interface w/ manufacturing lines; assist in managing IT systems that interact w/ plant controls; serve as technical expert for machine data collection/analysis & SCADA systems; set up & configure systems as utilized in plants; serve as liaison between engineering & IT for all plant systems; work w/ vendors to identify & secure innovative IT solutions to enhance production. Up to 10% domestic travel. Requires Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or related. 5 yrs. exp. developing & implementing PI Asset Framework tools & OSI PI data collection systems. 3 yrs. exp.: designing, configuring, & implementing SCADA systems, including iFix & HMI programming; developing & implementing data analytics tools using Power BI or SQL server to create data visualization reports & derive insight into manufacturing operations. 1 yr. exp. programming in ladder logic.
