Scope of Position: Work with internal customers to gather requirements, create and implement Reporting/Business Intelligence solutions

Responsibilities:

1) Interact with internal/external customers to gather requirements from a business and systems perspective. Interpret business needs and translate them into business solutions.

  • A short summary of a business ‘request’/need will be assigned to the intern. The request could be for a new report or dashboard and/or modifications to an existing report or dashboard.

2) Design, implement and support business intelligence solutions in accordance to standard Corning IT practices.

  • The intern will be responsible for meeting with the business to gather and document detailed requirements for their request. They will work with the business to design efficient, user-friendly solutions.

3) Develop business intelligence applications/reports using various technical capabilities from the Microsoft BI suite of tools

  • Based on the requirements gathered, the intern will develop, test and deliver an effective solution.

 

Education and Experience:

  • Enrolled in BS in Information System/Computer Science program
  • Course work completed to include: Microsoft BI Tools (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, SQL Server)
  • GPA of 3.5 or above
  • Relevant experience a plus

 

Required Skills: 

  • Experience in MicrosoftBI Tools (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, SQL Server)
  • Power BI experience
  • Computer literate in MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Ability to build relationships and interact with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively present information
  • Results-oriented
  • Flexibility - Able to change and adjust smoothly as the situation demands

 

Hours of work / work schedule / flex-time: Basic work hours are 40hrs/week; 8am-5pm
