Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

Purpose of Position:

Individual will work within a team-based environment as subject matter expert regarding day to day and long-term Installation, maintenance, repair, and performance of PM and PDM electrical related duties and assist with projects and improvements as required.

Summary of Duties:

  • Works within the Maintenance and Facilities Departments, inspecting, adjusting, troubleshooting, and repairing equipment.
  • Conducts repairs, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance.
  • Writes and revises preventive maintenance documentation and procedures.
  • Identifies, procures and orders spare parts.
  • Coordinates with vendors and technical representatives.
  • Devises and implements equipment changes to improve reliability, improve maintainability, reduce variability, improve PM efficiency.
  • Audits and revises documentation, including machine specifications, NFPA and Corning Corporate Electrical standards to ensure these regulations and procedures are followed.
  • Attending Meetings, design reviews, etc.
  • Works with engineering group.
  • Plans the sequence of work that is done by other trades to support Production, Maintenance, and Facilities Departments.
  • Responsible for checking for errors, quantity and quality of all electrical work being performed in the facility.
  • Occasional off hours support including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The range for this position is ​$29.75 hourly rate - $34.50 hourly rate.  Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
