Scope of Position:

Utilize engineering standards and practices to effectively accomplish technical assignments and projects. Makes decisions based upon sound engineering and scientific methods. Actively participates within and beyond department boundaries to resolve important process and product issues. Enhance manufacturing capabilities through the implementation of new ideas and methods. Execute projects to fulfill department goals and objectives.

 

Day to Day Tasks:

  • Provide problem solving guidance to production operations
  • Manage your area’s process performance improvement (OEE), recipe management, and projects (Safety, Yield, Cost, Capacity)
  • Interface with operators, team principals and peers to develop and implement process, equipment, or safety improvements into manufacturing
  • Work with engineering to develop equipment specifications/guidelines and organize meetings with respective groups to review proposals and quotes prior to purchasing
  • Develop maintenance and operator training and troubleshooting documentation
  • Troubleshoot and address mechanical issues, and complete basic installations of components
  • Assist in the commissioning and qualification of equipment
  • Contribute to the development and execution of product qualification plans
  • Create and justify spare parts lists
  • Guide trainers with the training of production personnel on new equipment
  • Formally document all aspects of the project
  • Provide problem solving guidance for plant equipment
  • Document process procedures to enable production to run equipment and products efficiently and within specifications
  • Guide the transfer of new cabling technology, materials, or processes from development to production
  • Assist with processing during product development, develop plans as to how the equipment/processes will be employed into production and ensure that new technology is repeatable in a production environment prior to transfer
  • Ensure all production and maintenance documentation is completed such as MI's, SOP's, PM's, calibration, and troubleshooting guides
  • Work with and train maintenance and other personnel to improve troubleshooting skills plant-wide

Work Hours and Schedule:

  • Nominal working hours are Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM.
  • Informal 24/7 coverage for ad-hoc call-in. (1st Level Subject Matter Expert)

 

Travel:

  • Less than 2%

 

Education and Skills:

  • High School or equivalent
  • 2 year technical degree preferred
  • 2+ years manufacturing environment experience preferred
  • Creative/innovative problem solving
  • Strong technical/mechanical comprehension
  • Able to partner across organizational boundaries and integrate solutions
  • Results oriented and dedicated
  • The ability to learn new technology and processes quickly
  • Excel knowledge

 

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of plastic extrusion/UV processing technologies
  • Cabling process and equipment
  • Design software knowledge
  • Data analysis skills
  • Ability to use basic measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, and rulers)
  • Controls knowledge and troubleshooting ability

This position does not support immigration sponsorship.  


The range for this position is  $55,599.00   -  $76,449.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
