Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.

 

Scope of Position:

To support, implement, and maintain Quality as well as Plant initiatives at TCP to drive continuous improvement of Quality, Safety, Cost, Delivery, and Morale.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

This position will lead and provide support for Quality objectives as follows:
• Manage and maintain the Windchill system.
• Conduct named user training for the Windchill system to ensure all team members are capable of using the system efficiently and effectively.
• Perform Break Source Analysis to identify and rectify potential issues.
• Coordinate special events such as the yearly Quality Event and Quality Competition, ensuring these events are well organized and meet their objectives.
• Oversee the Error Prevention Opportunity program, working to minimize mistakes and improve overall quality.
• Collaborate with other team members to develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement.
• Interface with Manufacturing, Process Engineering, Warehouse, Purchasing and Technology as needed.
• Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.
• Ability to work with little instruction for routine work.
• Some physical lifting is required. The job can be physical, sometimes requiring standing on feet most of day; stooping, reaching, bending, and lifting.
• Will require wearing of safety glasses, safety shoes, high visibility vest and certain places require ear protection.

Education/Experience – Required

  • High School Diploma  
  • Creative/innovative problem solving
  • Strong technical fundamentals and ability to learn new technology and processes quickly
  • Able to collaborate in a team environment across organizational boundaries and integrate solutions
  • Results oriented with high commitment to follow tasks to completion.

Education/Experience – Desired

  • 1-3 years’ experience in manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Solid understanding of Quality management systems.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, OneNote, Teams, Outlook; SAP; SharePoint
  • Knowledge of products, PQA philosophy and fundamentals
  • Green Belt certification a plus
  • Proficiency in microscopy to analyze and report on product defects.

The range for this position is $57,578.00 - $79,171.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
